Come join us as we sing some cracking tunes like Together in Electric Dreams, Walking on Broken Glass and The Way It Is.

 

There will be no interval as it won't be a very long concert and refreshments will be served at the end of the concert.

Tickets available on the door, £8 (£6).

Edinburgh City Singers hosted a charity bake sale and raffle where we raised an incredible £750 for our nominated charity, LifeCare Centre.

Fundraising Rehearsal 2017

Monday 1st May, 2017

Our annual Bake Sale and Fundraising Rehearsal will be held before and during the regular rehearsal on Monday 1st May.

Please bake, bring, and buy! There will also be a raffle and other games to win prizes.

All proceeds will go to the Khanyisela Project (more info here), helping provide education to children in the Amazizi Area in Africa.

Donations are also welcome for Marysia to take directly to the project when she travels there later this year!

Christmas Social 2016

Saturday 17th December, 2016

Our end of term Pub Quiz social will be held at the Lifecare Centre in Stockbridge (where Michelle's farewell ceilidh was held).

Parking on surrounding streets is very limited so we suggest arriving on foot. Numerous buses serve the main road through Stockbridge.

Our quizmaster for the evening will lead us through a number of rounds, before the winning team is presented with a prize. 

Nibbles will be provided and you may bring your own booze (and other drinks).

Christmas Carolling 2016

Edinburgh Christmas Market, 1-3pm.

As part of the Winter Wonderland in St. Andrew's Square, we shall be performing Christmas songs and carols in aid of OneKind, the animal protection charity. Don your santa hat, grab some tinsel, and come brave the chilly weather to raise some much needed pennies for a local cause.

In the beautiful setting of St. Cuthbert's Church, at the foot of Edinburgh Castle, this dedicated community choir will delight with a wide variety of songs including pop songs old and new, well-known hits from musicals, and beautiful settings of well known choral pieces. Soak up the music in the stunning architecture, and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie during the interval.

Ceilidh/Farewell Party

The Lifecare Centre, Stockbridge. Parking VERY LIMITED. 

 

Ceilidh, hog roast, good times! Formal attire encouraged (kilts!), although comfortable shoes recommended!

This party is for current choir members only and YOU NEED TO SIGN UP FOR THE PARTY so that I know how many to cater for - please put your name on the list at the rehearsal on either the 15th or 22nd August, noting any dietary requirements.

Where: Dinner & Bus pick-up: Cosmo, The Omni Centre, Greenside Row, Edinburgh, EH1

What: Let's celebrate the end of term and months of hard work with a fun evening out: a buffet dinner at Cosmo, with food from all over the world (vegetarian and vegan available - wine, draft beers and soft drinks included), followed by a private tour on the Edinburgh Ghost Bus - step on board for a macabre journey into the tainted history of the land!

The church will be open from 6.20pm for you to bring your home-baked goods and to buy those made by others! Cupcakes, flapjacks, peppermints, fudge, shortbread or whatever you fancy...seek out your mixing bowl and whisk, and get to business!

 

RAFFLE

Raffle tickets will be on sale for 50p each and prizes include a selection of donations from local businesses.

 

DONATIONS

Bring an item to donate to the Edinburgh shelter - Michelle will take everything directly to them later in the week...and pat a few puppies whilst she's there :)

Time to celebrate choir style - KARAOKE! A fun evening of food and singing - we'll start with dinner at the fantastic Doric pub and finish off by singing our hearts out until the small hours. Please sign up at the next rehearsal or email Michelle.

Christmas Social 2015

Arrival from 6.30pm, film will start at 7pm.

Where: The basement cinema, The Scotsman Hotel, North Bridge Street, Edinburgh.

What: To celebrate the festive season and the end of our busy term we will be watching the film Sister Act (featuring 'Hail Holy Queen', one of our songs this term), and partaking in some festive party games.

​Cost: free admission, including popcorn or ice-cream.

Dresscode: Christmas jumpers!! Prizes for most ugly, most cute, and most inventive!

The Edinburgh City Singers are proud to host their second annual Summer Concert.
At the foot of the castle, St Cuthbert's Church lends itself perfectly for this evening of musical entertainment - pop songs, musicals, a little bit of classical and almost everything in-between, we will entertain with something to suit every taste.
Songs featured include Bohemian Rhapsody, California Dreamin', Penny Lane, For the Beauty of the Earth and Call Me Maybe.
Tickets will be available on the door, but you can buy yours now at no extra price by visiting this webpage.
Doors will open from 6.20pm.

Light refreshments will be available to purchase during the interval including Pimms, fruit juice, and cupcakes from Kingfisher Bakery.

Spring Social 2015

Cost: £7 disco and skate hire / £12.95 or £15 for dinner

Don't worry if skating isn't your thing - you are welcome to come along and cheer (and laugh!) from the sidelines. 

Following the Roller Disco we will are re-grouping at Renroc Cafe on Montgomery Street for dinner at 8pm. There is a set menu to choose from: £10 for two courses or £15 for three. Those that have signed up for the dinner will receive an email shortly so that you can make your dinner choice in advance.

The Edinburgh City Singers are pleased to welcome you to their first ever Christmas Concert.

Come along and enjoy Christmas songs and festive cheer at the foot of Edinburgh Castle.

Music featured during the evening will include Christmas favourites, well-known songs from musicals, and popular classics from the eighties through to modern day. From 'Africa' by Toto through to 'Let It Go' from the new Disney Film Frozen, let us take you on a musical journey  (and tempt you with some mince pies and cupcakes).

Fundraising Rehearsal 2014

£213.54 raised! Amazing!

The Edinburgh City Singers are raising money for the Manchester Dogs Home, who recently suffered a devastating arson attack, killing nearly 60 dogs and destroying their buildings. The horror those poor animals went through is unimaginable.

Our rehearsal on Monday 22nd September will run as normal, but the church will be open from 6.30pm for you to bring along your baked goodies, and purchase those made by others to either scoff right there and then, or take home for friends and family.  

We are also holding a raffle, and tickets are only 50p!

Prizes include:

- a voucher for a treatment at the Regis Spa, in Jenners (www.edinburghspasalon.co.uk)

- a one hour Reiki session

- a goodie box from The Fudge Kitchen (www.fudgekitchen.co.uk)

Singing Workshop 2014

Michelle Cresswell, experienced and inspiring choir director, invites you to a day of fun, relaxed, two-part harmony singing in a wonderful setting at the foot of Edinburgh Castle.

Come along and be uplifted by the fantastic sounds we make together!

This workshop is for absolutely anyone who loves to sing -  whether you think you can or not!

Our first ever concert is taking place at the end of June, and we are delighted to invite you along for an evening of eclectic music, ranging from traditional folk tunes, through well-known musicals, and all the way to recent pop tracks.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at rehearsals, or reserved by emailing edinburghcitysingers@live.com. They will also be available for purchase on the door at the concert.
